![]() ![]() I prefer everything to go through the WiFi but do you think I could improve the stream if I connect the streaming device directly to the TV? Then, I'm still trying to figure out what would be the best way of streaming. Should I use it as a server and a client? Or just as a streaming device and leave the server on the NAS? Or just as a server and using the TV client? Reading about it, I'm confused about how to use it. Having the thin client connected to the NAS and running the Plex Server there. As I direct stream, will it be capable of streaming big files simultaneously? Up to two streams as of now. ![]() Just then, while setting it up, I realized it was quite weak - much weaker than my thin client. Unfortunately, I went on a budget route as I found a nice almost new Synology DS218j at a good price. Then I decided to step up and give a NAS a try. Everything runs acceptably except for the biggest 4K films. Then I got the Plex client on my TV and my daughter's computer. As a first step (just for a try), I set up a Dell thin client with an external disc where I got all my media. So far I had some shared folders on computers but nothing more. So, a few months back I decided to give a media server a try. I'm a bit overwhelmed with the options as I don't have much experience and I hope you'll be able to help me. I posted the same topic in the Plex forum when I realized this is probably the best place to ask for advice. ![]()
